Alhambra's defining layout is the deep, narrow lot with a long driveway running the full length of it, a house at the front and one or more units behind, ending in a garage block at the very back. Very often there are two, three or four small doors in a row, each belonging to a different household, all reached down that one driveway. That layout drives the work: access is tight, the doors are old and narrow, and because several families share the approach, a single failed door can block the whole run. The housing is mostly 1920s to 1950s Spanish, Craftsman and post-war stucco, so a lot of these are still one-piece or early sectional doors on extension springs without containment cables, with openers added long afterwards and no photo-eye sensors. Along Valley and Main we also look after roll-ups on shops and small commercial units.
We replace springs and add containment cables, renew cables, rollers, hinges and track, reset off-track doors, free off doors that have not been used in years, repair and replace openers, and fit photo-eye safety sensors where they are missing. On multi-unit lots we can look at every door on the property in one visit and invoice the owner directly. Every job ends with a balance test and a reverse test.
