Canoga Park goes back further than most of the Valley, and the streets near Sherman Way still hold bungalows from the 1920s and 1930s with narrow detached garages behind the house. Those doors are often the oldest we see anywhere: one-piece tilt-up panels on extension springs, with no safety cables, and hardware that has been repaired rather than replaced for decades. A block away the housing switches to 1950s tracts with wide attached doors on a single torsion spring, and then again to the apartment blocks and Warner Center townhomes with shared roll-ups and tandem garages that cycle many times a day. On the older doors our first job is usually safety: fitting containment cables on extension springs and photo-eye sensors on openers that never had either.
We replace torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers and bent track, reset off-track doors, repair and replace openers, and bring older Canoga Park installations up to current safety standards with containment cables, working photo-eye sensors and a reliable auto-reverse.
