The heart of Culver City is a compact grid of 1920s to 1950s bungalows and Spanish homes on small lots, and the garages were sized for the cars of the day. A modern SUV barely fits, which is why we see more contact damage here than anywhere nearby: dented bottom sections, bent track, and doors knocked off line by a mirror or a bumper. Because the openings are narrow and low, many of them are still one-piece or early sectional doors on extension springs, and the retrofit openers bolted to them years later have no photo-eye sensors. Up in Blair Hills and Culver Crest the streets slope and the garages sit under the houses, while Fox Hills is condos and townhomes with tandem parking and shared roll-ups that cycle far more often. The Hayden Tract and Jefferson corridor add commercial and studio doors to the mix, which we also handle.
We straighten or replace damaged bottom sections and bent track, replace springs, cables, rollers and hinges, reset off-track doors, repair and replace openers including low-headroom units, and fit working photo-eye sensors and auto-reverse where an older setup never had them.
