Hesperia lots are large and so are the garages: detached shops, three-car bays, and RV-height doors that weigh far more than a standard two-car door and load every spring, cable, and bearing accordingly. Springs are rated in cycles rather than years, and an oversized door works through that rated life quickly. When it goes, a door that heavy and out of balance will destroy an opener within weeks if you keep using it. High desert wind pushes fine grit into the tracks and roller bearings, and once the lubrication has cooked off in the summer heat the rollers skid instead of rolling, wearing flats into the wheels and pulling the door out of alignment. Sun does the rest: bottom seals and weatherstrip harden and crack, letting dust blow into a shop you were trying to keep clean, and the nylon gear in the opener turns brittle enough to strip. On tall doors we always inspect where the cables wind on the drums, because that is where fraying starts and where a break does the most damage.
We repair springs, cables, rollers, hinges, bearings, tracks, seals, openers, safety sensors, and remotes, and we size replacement springs to the actual door instead of guessing, which matters a great deal on oversized and RV doors. When a door is rusted through, badly bent, or built too light for its opening, we will say that a replacement is the better use of your money.
