Northridge is largely detached single-family housing built between the 1950s and 1970s, with attached two-car garages and wide double doors. A single wide door weighs considerably more than the two single doors it replaced, and it usually hangs on one torsion spring. When that spring goes, the door is immovable and the opener cannot help. We also still find openers here dating back decades, running without modern photo-eye safety sensors, which is a real hazard in a house with children or pets.
As well as spring, cable, roller and track work, we bring older Northridge installations up to current safety standards with working photo-eye sensors and auto-reverse, and replace openers that are past economical repair. We test the balance and the reverse function before we leave, and show you how to check it yourself. Licensed and insured.
