We cover the Ojai Valley: the town itself and the streets off Ojai Avenue, plus Meiners Oaks, Mira Monte, Oak View and the ranch properties out toward the East End. We are often able to attend the same day and otherwise book you the next morning. Diagnosis and estimates are free, and we work 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, seven days a week.
Ojai takes the appearance of its buildings seriously, and that carries through to garage doors. A plain white ribbed steel panel looks wrong on a Spanish revival house or a ranch property, and in the town itself there are expectations about what street-facing work should look like. Most of what we do here is therefore repair and preservation rather than replacement: re-springing and re-hanging heavy wood doors, replacing rotted rails and hardware, and where a door really is finished, fitting carriage or panelled styles that read correctly against adobe, stucco and board-and-batten. The valley is also hot and dry for a long stretch of the year, which is hard on wood and on lubrication, and the East End properties bring barns, workshops and taller doors on long unpaved drives into the mix.
We re-spring and re-balance heavy wood doors to their real weight, replace rotted rails, cables, rollers, hinges and track, reset off-track doors, service taller barn and shop doors, and repair or replace openers, including heavier-duty units where a door genuinely needs one. Photo-eye safety sensors are fitted where they are missing. Every visit ends with a balance test and a reverse test. Licensed and insured, California license #1149841.
House, barn or workshop, it comes down to one of these. Diagnosis is free and the common parts travel with us:
