Sun Valley is not a single kind of neighbourhood, and the door work reflects that. The residential streets are mostly 1940s to 1960s tract homes with attached two-car garages on one torsion spring, and after sixty-odd years those springs, rollers and cables are well past their cycle life. Larger lots toward Shadow Hills and the horse-keeping streets often have a detached shop or a taller door built for a truck, trailer or RV, where the extra height and weight put real strain on the hardware. Then there is the commercial side along San Fernando Road and the side streets: sectional and rolling steel doors on shops, yards and warehouses that open and close dozens of times a day and fail on cycles, not on age. We replace torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, hinges and bent track, put off-track doors back and realign them, repair and replace openers, and fit working photo-eye sensors where an older setup never had them. On heavier and higher-cycle doors we size the spring to the actual door rather than to whatever was on it, so it lasts. Every visit finishes with a balance test and a reverse test.
