We cover Venice from the walk streets and the canals to Abbot Kinney, Oakwood, Rose Avenue and the blocks either side of Lincoln and Venice Boulevard. We work from the alleys, which is where most of these garages actually are. Same-day slots are usually available. Diagnosis and estimates are free, and we work 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, seven days a week.
On the walk streets and around the canals there is no street frontage for a car at all, so the garage off the rear alley is the only vehicle access a house has. When that door fails it is not an inconvenience, it is the difference between having a car and not. The alleys are narrow, doors get clipped, and bent track and damaged bottom sections are routine here. Venice also has more contemporary architecture than anywhere else on this side of town, and with it a lot of full-view aluminium and glass doors, plus roll-ups on studios and converted workspaces. Those doors are heavier and less forgiving than they look: glass panels add real weight, the springs have to be right, and a sagging or dragging door will crack a panel rather than simply grinding. Add sand and salt air, and cables and hinges corrode faster than most people expect.
We replace springs sized to the real door weight, renew corroded cables, rollers, hinges and bottom brackets, straighten or replace bent track and damaged sections, reset off-track doors, and repair or replace openers, including low-headroom and wall-mounted units for tight alley garages. Photo-eye safety sensors are fitted where they are missing. Every visit ends with a balance test and a reverse test. Licensed and insured, California license #1149841.
Old alley garage or new full-view door, it usually comes down to one of these. Diagnosis is free and the common parts travel with us:
